I'm not sure if people learn about environmentally friendly practices. At school, I remember a little bit of that at biology class, something about the water. I learned that water isn't a renewable natural resource (and I always try to take care of water). I believe that people don't learn anything about environmentally friendly practices at formal education.
Anyway, I'm a person who worries about that. It isn't a central problem in my life but, I try to do what I can. I have the habit of recycling but it's not very easy: In the beginning I didn't know where I could drop the bottles, the milk catons.. etc. Now, I'm taking that stuff to the supermarket, there are some recycling sites. But, I have to say it, I'm not very happy taking the garbage to the supermarket, when I go there, I can't stop thinking that they are doing some kind of business with this recycling-thing and I'm helping to do that. Well, I just calm myself thinking that it's better than just drop it .
Most of the time I use a bike or the public transport. I have to confess, that there isn't just for taking care of the air, but it's an advantage and I'm proud of that. I can say, I'm taking care of myself and the air. I consider the pollution an important problem and I'm concerned about the quality of the air, but, that's because I use a bike and I really can feel the efects of cycling with a dirty air. It's like contrary to what normally you could think: I worry beacause I use a bike it isn't something like I worry and that's the reason for cycling.
Well, spite of all that I'm saying... I think this is a delusion. Nothing changes if I or you recycle all our garbage! there are other people, in the United States, in Europe who have many industries and they ARE the pollution. Here in Chile, there are so many mining production which don't give any care about the environment. And that's the problem, not me!
Bye.
